Allocating Cultural Trust funds in the form of grants is the Coalition’s primary function, however, the Coalition strives to nurture and brighten the cultural scene throughout Clackamas County. Members represent a diverse landscape geographically and organizationally including music, education, art, sculpture, dance, writing, heritage, business and celebratory events.

The board meets officially on a quarterly basis. Other sessions may be scheduled for subcommittee business.

The Clackamas County Cultural Coalition is a group of dedicated individuals from a range of organizations who are committed to promoting and supporting the arts, culture, and heritage in Clackamas County. We believe that these are all essential parts of a thriving community, and we work hard to ensure that everyone has access to enriching and transformative experiences.

Board meetings are held quarterly, and board terms are for 3 years.

The mission of the Clackamas County Cultural Coalition is to grow the cultural assets in the County. The Coalition’s responsibility is to distribute funds from the County, and the Oregon Cultural Trust, to local arts, history, heritage, humanities organizations, and cultural creatives.

As a volunteer board member with the Clackamas County Cultural Coalition, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and initiatives, including:

● Granting funds for cultural events, education, and cultural programming.

● Advocating for supporting culture, humanities, heritage and arts at local and County levels.

● Raising funds to support education and cultural programming

● Building partnerships with local businesses and organizations to promote these goals.

The Coalition meets quarterly. In your three year term you will have the opportunity to serve a minimum of one year on a grant review panel and as an officer. Your willingness to encourage donations to the Oregon Cultural Trust and enthusiasm for the good work of the Coalition will be welcome.
